COLLECT Winter 2013

Collecting art is more than just acquiring works of art, as evident in the programming for Yellow Peril in 2012.  Stack elaborates: “Concepts of what collecting art constitutes were explored further with several performance-based, experiential works exhibited in The Courtyard at The Plant, such as Ari Kalinowski’s interactive “The Beacon”, “Table Fights”, and Quintin Rivera-Toro’s relational aesthetic piece “Summer Grid”, the latter of which was selected by City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism to be featured on their “Buy Art” buttons.”

The Winter 2013 of COLLECT issue features:

  • PROFILES: Gary Duehr, Barbara Owen and Masha Ryskin
  • FEATURES: Maralie and Michael Childress
  • REVIEWS: “Until the Kingdom Comes” / Simen Johan,  “More and More, More is More” / RISD Digital+Media, and “In the Holocene” / MIT LIst Visual Arts Center
