COLLECT | Winter 2013: Highlights
Yellow Peril Gallery is pleased to announce that the Winter 2013 issue of COLLECT | Art + Culture for the Curated Lifestyle is now online! This is our second quarterly publication.
“COLLECT magazine debuted in March 2012, providing readers with not only news and reviews of the contemporary art world, but uniquely focused testaments from experienced collectors regarding their passion for collecting art,” reflects Editor-In-Chief Robert P. Stack in “A Letter from the Editor.”
Collecting art is more than just acquiring works of art, as evident in the programming for Yellow Peril in 2012. Stack elaborates: “Concepts of what collecting art constitutes were explored further with several performance-based, experiential works exhibited in The Courtyard at The Plant, such as Ari Kalinowski’s interactive “The Beacon”, “Table Fights”, and Quintin Rivera-Toro’s relational aesthetic piece “Summer Grid”, the latter of which was selected by City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism to be featured on their “Buy Art” buttons.”
The Winter 2013 of COLLECT issue features:
- PROFILES: Gary Duehr, Barbara Owen and Masha Ryskin
- FEATURES: Maralie and Michael Childress
- REVIEWS: “Until the Kingdom Comes” / Simen Johan, “More and More, More is More” / RISD Digital+Media, and “In the Holocene” / MIT LIst Visual Arts Center
